French Cuisine

Cook simple dishes using local produce in the atmosphere and fun of our farmhouse kitchen – with a soupçon of culture thrown in!

Our cookery courses are one, three or six day. Our residential three day/four night and six day/six night programmes offer basically the same culinary programme, the latter having two ‘free’ days in which to explore the many other interesting areas Normandy has to offer.  Sinéad will willingly share her experience of the area with guests, helping them plan their trip to ensure they make the most of their Normandy adventure.   Please note that if you don’t see a course that suits you, tell us what you want and we’ll design one to meet your requirements.

One Day Course

Mondays and Fridays are market days, so we usually start our day there at 9a.m, picking ingredients before heading to La Blonderie for our hands-on class and after-class, three-course lunch, washed down with a glass of local organic cider, or wine.

On other days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) classes begin at 10a.m at La Blonderie. We usually wind up around 3- 3.30p.m.  Learn more…

Three Day Course

Our three-day course entails three hands-on cookery classes (including one in our very own boulangerie, or bakery, built in 1789) a market tour, a visit to a local, organic cider farm followed by a tasting of produce and a shopping trip to the renowned fine food store La Maison du Biscuit, described once as ‘Disneyland for foodies’. Four nights bed and breakfast is included as well as a welcome supper on arrival. Learn more…

  • Welcome supper of cheeses, wine, dessert, breads etc.
  • Three fun, informative hands-on cooking classes with recipe folders and after-class tasting meals
  • One restaurant lunch (plat du jour)
  • All excursions – farmer’s market visit, organic cider farm and dégustation, épicerie fine shopping trip

Six Day Course

On a six-day course, guests will be given three cookery classes and brought on all the local foodie excursions. Guests can discover the best of Normandy with its rugged coastlines, historical sites, museums, gardens, beaches, villages and much more. Sinéad will share her extensive knowledge of the area ensuring that your trip is a memorable one.
